Sustainable Garden Conversions

These projects convert unused parts of campus land into beautiful sustainable gardens. I worked with a team of interns to complete every step of creating each garden from the design, to the irrigation, to the planting.

A challenge with this garden to the right was the parking lot right behind it. We chose to screen the parking lot by planting Accias. We also chose to plant valley oaks to provide shade to the area. Each garden provides different challenges that keep the designs unique and the gardens interesting to plan for.

The installed gardens are full of drought tolerant and native CA plants and save 70% of the water needed previously to water the grass there.
